Volvo XC60 second generation SUV
The Volvo will present its new XC60 model of the second generation crossover in 2017. According to Autoexpress, the unveiling of the car will take place at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Currently, the company is conducting some road tests of the new crossover.
The car will be built on a modular SPA platform which is also used by XC90. The new crossover will be the sixth model of the Swedish brand exploiting this platform. Unlike the flagship crossover, the XC60 will get a more sportive design. The car will quite likely be bigger than its predecessor. The interior of the model will get a fully digital control panel.
All specifications are still kept secret. According to unofficial information, the car will be equipped with 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine available in two power options. SUV hybrid version will be presented as well. Later, some markets will sell the car with three-cylinder engines.
Apart from that, the Volvo is developing a crossover a step below the XC60. The main competitors of the SUV will be the BMW X1 and Audi Q3.
